Hi I’m Portia. I’m from Durban, South Africa.
How would you describe your style?: “I would describe my style as simple but flattering. I love anything that sits on my waist. I’m a flats kind of girl. I like simple items like blouses and dresses that are comfortable.”
What are you passionate about?: “Being someone who grew up feeling different and left out, I know the feeling of wanting to be included. So I have a heart for those who feel alienated by society and also anyone with mental health issues. I want to help them know that they are worth every breath and they can live confidently in the promises of God.”
What worship song do you have on repeat?: “Move your heart by UPPERROOM – it reminds me that it’s not about me but about Him.”
Can you tell us something transformational God has done in your life?: “At the age of 10, I choked on a fireball sweet, it’s huge in size and made of hard bubble gum. When I realised I was choking I thought it was the last day of my life because it was larger than my tiny throat. Then, around 11 years later, when I was 21, I started experiencing nightmares when I was sleeping. It was like I was choking on a big seed but I couldn’t spit it out. Sometimes I would scream and then I would wake up and realise that it wasn’t real. So my family prayed in my room and I was healed and delivered from the trauma. He’s a way maker kind of God and if he came through for me then he will for you too. That’s who he is!”
